Prevention Is The key To Longevity
Inflammation is the precursor to diseases such as cancer, arthritis, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and high blood pressure. Early detection of inflammation may help you prevent these diseases. Measuring inflammation through thermal imaging is a proactive, preventative method for detecting diseases which significantly improve your chances for longevity and good health.
Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) or Thermography is a non-invasive diagnostic technique that creates images that illustrate heat patterns in the body. The thermal images are analyzed for abnormalities which may be signs of disease.
Thermal imaging is -
- Does not involve any Compression
- Emits no radiation
Thermograms provide early detection of cancerous and pre-cancerous conditions - you can see conditions before they become disease. Annual Thermograms allow you to map changes in the body's heat patterns over time and help alert you to deviations from the norm.
Breast Cancer Prevention
Statistics indicates that one in eight women will get breast cancer at some point in their life. In addition to proper breast self-exams and physician exams, thermography and Mammography together provide the earliest detection system for breast cancer.
With Breast Thermogrphy, it is recommended to have 2 scans done within a 3 - 4 month period since active cancers double in size and heat approximately 100 days apart. If there are no changes, then annual thermal scans are appropriate.
Thermography is used to detect various other conditions including -
- Back & Neck Pain
- Dental Issues
- Sinus Issues & Headaches
- Immune Dysfunction
- Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Digestive Disorders
- Determining Extent of Injury
- Unexplained Pain
- And much more!
Preventative Therapy - Thermography screening also help to assess the heart function and to detect inflammation in the Carotid arteries. These may be precursor to stroke and blood clots. Early detection of a heart problem may save your life.
Heat patterns detected by Thermography indicate inflammation, which is precursor to disease in the body and directly correlates with other diagnostic tests. Early detection of inflammation is critical since it helps you to prevent or intervene in the development process before it turns into disease.
Are Thermograms Different From Mammograms?
Mammograms look for signs of anatomical changes in the breast as they help detect masses or lumps in the breast tissue. On the other hand, Thermograms look for vascular look for vascular changes in the breast by detecting blood flow patterns, inflammation and asymmetries. Both these methods complement each other and provide a holistic approach to early detection.
Breast cancer prevention should start as early as possible. Thermograms are useful for all women including women who want to monitor their breast health before the recommended age of 40.
How Does Thermography Work?
An infrared scanning device is used to convert infrared radiation emitted from the skin surface into electrical impulses that are visualized in color on a monitor. This visual image graphically maps the body temperature and is referred to as a thermogram.
Note: Avoid heavy exercise, deodorant, spicy foods, hot beverages, body creams and lotions, gum chewing, and tight-fitting clothing on the day of your thermogram.
Your Thermography Appointment Day
Your Thermography appointment is scheduled for 30 minutes. There are multiple steps in the process as follows -
Step 1 - You relax in a temperature controlled room to allow your body to cool from external conditions and complete your paperwork including a brief health survey.
Step 2 - A Thermography technician takes digital pictures. This will take 5 - 15 minutes. You will be able to see your body "live" on the computer screen.
Step 3 - Your pictures are sent out to a certified doctor for analysis of the amount of heat and the symmetry of heat patterns. This helps identify infections, inflammations, or a variance from your body's norm.
Step 4 - You will be sent a report of the findings. This will help you and your physician determine any next steps in your healthcare.
Step 5 - Return for annual Thermograms to monitor for any changes against your body's normal baseline.
Are You Ready For Thermography Screening?
Adding Thermography to your annual routine can help with early detection of inflammation and various health conditions before they become diseases. If you are not serious about prevention, can you afford disease?
