During your initial appointment for facial rejuvenation, our licensed acupuncturist will do a thorough assessment of your overall health with particular emphasis on facial soft tissues, muscles, and skin. She will discuss your lifestyle, dietary choices, and any current skincare program. As part of the assessment, the acupuncturist will ensure you can undergo facial rejuvenation. She will explain your current skin health and what you should during and expect after your facial rejuvenation treatment.

Most women and men can enjoy the benefits of facial rejuvenation. Those who have a contagious skin disease, have undergone cosmetic or surgical procedures within the last six weeks, are pregnant, or suffer from hemophilia should not undergo cosmetic acupuncture.

What to Expect During Your Facial Rejuvenation Visit?

Your first facial rejuvenation visit will last approximately 90 minutes. During each visit, the acupuncturist will remove all traces of makeup and begin applying the acupuncture needles to specific locations on your face. The acupuncture needles used for facial rejuvenation have a diameter about as thick as a single hair. We use only the finest quality facial acupuncture needles. The needles will be placed along the face to increase collagen production and blood flow to the area.

Once the needles are placed on the face, they will be left in place for approximately 20 minutes. Throughout your treatment sessions, the lights will be lowered to help you relax while the needles work their magic. At the end of your treatment, the needles will be removed, and some moisturizer will be applied to the face. As the moisturizer is applied, the acupuncturist will gently massage the face to improve and assist with blood flow and lymphatic drainage.

Since most of the meridians that are on the face, also run through different body parts, facial rejuvenation acupuncture includes many body points as well that benefits the face as well as different body organs and regions. Your cosmetic acupuncture treatment plan includes the initial consultation and 12 weekly facial rejuvenation treatments lasting 90 minutes each. You may start noticing results after your first treatment; however, most people see results after their seventh treatment. The full twelve sessions are recommended to ensure lasting results. Self-maintenance that includes self-facial massage, supplementation, and dietary and lifestyle changes will help you maintain your results between sessions. Additionally, many patients prefer to visit our office for a monthly facial rejuvenation treatment to maintain the results and keep their skin healthy, youthful, and glowing.
